My very good friend gave me a voucher for my favourite local craft shop for x-mas! I will try to be good and not spend it on more yarn but maybe a pattern book or something like.....

If i am on a stashalong like now i allow myself to buy patterns and or magazines as long as i can make something out of the yarn i have already and not buy more.

That way i feel guilt free

I have bought no yarn since January 2nd - 2009. Over a year ago!

I'm slightly annoyed that I bought any in 2009: it was a couple of balls choosen by DD to make things for her (an iPod case and phone case). I can't hold out until December (to make it an entire calendar year) but I am debating whether to go for a whole tax year, which would mean I can buy again on 6th April.

Well done Penny on your restraint, I would be calling it a year now and be out splurging, but thats maybe why I'm on stashalong in the first place

I have bought hardly any yarn since woolfest, 200g sock yarn which is now knitted up, green DK to crochet christmas trees and DK oddments for my nativity. The stash still seems huge but for now I dont even have the urge to spend, just wish I had more knitting time as I have loads of stuff I want to make from stash right now. I am going away in March and will buy yarn then but probably just a few balls of Marble chunky for a couple of projects.

OH hi guys, guess what - I'm BACK!
Last year I bought NO yarn at Woolfest - I cheated actualy because I did buy a lot of fibre... BUT it has sustained me until my OH bought me more fibre for Christmas - woohoo! :D

I have bought some Noro Silk Garden to carry on my ten stitch blanket, and I bought some white 4 ply - that's over the course of last year, from Nov 2008 onwards. *however* ..... I have 'acquired' a number of skeins of yarn from my own stock - does that count? I do really need to do more knitting with my own yarns (my goal for this year, as well as stashbusting!) so technically it's for business/product-testing purposes........

Oh also, most of the fibre that got spun up has been sold, so that fibre didn't count... did it?

Anyway this year, I am allowed ONLY to buy Silk Garden Lite for my blanket. No other yarn! Woolfest is a fibre-only-event again. I am stashbusting my stash AND stashbusting my aquisition of my own yarns for display purposes (not my own enjoyment.. not at all!) at Woolfest.

Did any of that make sense?

I could have just written 'I am doing some more serious stashbusting this year' and been done with it.

I need to go to bed..........

Night night! I did understand you though, honest and you've been very good. I check on this thread occasionally and run away quick, but now I am really really back on a stashalong, no promises to buy no wool at all, but BIG cutting back, haven't decided on specific rules yet, I'm going to sleep on it for the time being!

Seeing as I just sold the majority of my stash I guess I'm doing well  I do have some stupid ammounts of acrylic but they're going to be used for big crochet charity blankets and the such like.
