I KNOW it's early ok!! But I have started my Christmas knits, and wondered if anyone else has? If not, will you be doing soon? Either way, feel free to join in the KAL  I've found it helps spur me on.

So here's my to do/done list:
- Delicato mitts for Mum - DONE
- Hat for OH - DONE
- Handspun socks for mum - DONE
- Green shawl - DONE

- Cuff socks - in progress
- Yellow socks
- Fairisle mitts
- Fairisle mini hotbot cover
- Doily - In progress
- Green blanket if poss
- Small blue shawl for mum
- Stockings for OH and myself (hopefully!)
- Decorations - mini stockings, baubles, amigurumi nativity & angel

So, what do your to do lists look like? I always like to do lots of knitted gifts, as they're so useful (we're an outdoorsy family) and always appreciated :)

I'm still planning, but I think I need to make 3 hats, 2 scarves and maybe I'll have another try at a shawl?
Although I wouldn't bet my life on all these being completed the rate time is flying by!

I think that most of my hand-knit gifts this year are sock-related. I've made a list of what to make for whom but I've already been sidetracked by other patterns, and then Mum announced her liking for a Hap shawl I made recently (pics on my ravelry page/blog). I have made a pair of alpaca arm-warmers for my sister which I hope she will like (she doesn't really 'do' handknits, but I hope these will convert her   )
I'm trying to do one gift and then something small for me by way of incentive. I've bought Ysolda's Whimsical Little Knits 2 and am very tempted by some of the cute hat/mitten projects.

Oh I'm so relieved I'm not the only one!
I've started a 'ten stitch blanket' for me too- by way of incentive! I only have two balls of yarn for it so far so I can slowly work on it in between Christmas knits! Then for christmas I'll ask fo the yarn to finish it :D
I'm also doing innocent smoothie hats, so I'll try and finish them this week then I can concentrate my efforts more on my gift knitting!

I've started with a little stash bust and am making some bags and little bits for my Christmas stash box ;) I make a lot of little bits and pieces to put by to bulk out skimpy pressies or for those who catch me unawares and I have spare presents for. This stash is then used up during the year for birthdays and the like 8-)
So far 2 bags near complete and a hat and scarf combo.
Want to make some socks and some hats for just incasers, but want to make something extra special for my mum or sister but undecided yet

I've started too!

I've got socks for DH, brother, Dad, cousin and poss DD2
Scarf/hood (I refuse to call it a snood!) for SIL
Door hanging thingy for DD1

Not too much but enough for me, I think!

I've got two pairs of socks nearly done and the hood's cast on - it's a lovely cable thing but I've a feeling it's going to take me longer than I want it to.

Oh, and a new baby cardigan for a new baby which hasn't arrived yet but I will need to have done by the last week in October.

I have done:

1 alpaca cowl
1 stash-busting scarf (using 2 strands DK and great big needles)
1 lace crochet scarf
2 pairs handwarmers (did have 3 but needed an emergency present for DD's friend)
1 knitted bag (basketweave one from let's knit with all the flowers on)
1 crochet bag

I started a scarf out of cheap Wilkinson yarn but I don't like it so it's been hidden ;) started another scarf but got bored with it  so decided to do something totally different and started making Alan Dart's Bat from Simply Knitting...not sure who's going to get that!!!

still have 2 hats to make...and DS has been begging for a hoodie... :? and thinking of making some crochet grocery bags when I can find the right pattern...

I'm not knitting as many gifts as I did last year
CPH for DD
A set of tree decorations for DD2 & SIL to be
Chunky cardi for friend
Perhaps a few pairs of Fetching / Hat or scarf to match? I do like the neckwarmers though - so much less to knit. Does anyone else find scarves really boring?

I'm going to start the Chunky cardi next week.

Linda

My list:
Reindeer for Christmas tree festival: knit but not stuffed
Stocking for half-cousin: started
Cat mittens for Knitherapy swap: Pattern printed, yarn ordered
Pam's mitts: started 1, at thumb

Probably a few other things but I forget right now
