I'm thinking of doing one of Lucy's granny square blankets now to use up all my odd little bits of wool...will there be a square-along??????

I'm doing a summer garden squares blanket as well at the moment - if you want to go ahead and start a square-along I'll join you :) Or I can start one if you want!

Ooooohhh, yes please.....!!! would love to see pics of your blanket...I tried a couple of those summer garden squares and really liked them, I have loads of little tiny bits of yarn that I wont throw away so it would be a perfect project for me...I just have to finish some socks first... (you will defo be better at starting the thread than me...I have no idea how to do links and anything computery )

I have now completed 90 rows of my ripple blanket :)

At 14 14-stitch pattern repeats per row, that's 14 x 14 x 90 which is, erm, a lot of stitches :D 17,640 in fact (and no, I didn't work it out in my head - I used a calculator  ).

I started a Ripple Baby Blanket last night. It's going to be for my niece who is expecting Jun/July time. I'm only using two colours, a lovely primrose yellow and a dusky pink (yes she is having a girl!). The foundation row took me an age to do and I was convinced my stitch count would be out by the time I got to the end, but it was spot on. I got the yarn from Boyes (or Boyeses if you hail from the East Riding  ), it's 100% acrylic and only 99p per 100g and feels quite soft. I didn't want top splash out on expensive yarn, as knowing my niece it would be ruined on the first wash!!!

Everyone's getting on really well, some beautiful blankies and scarves going on here. Last night I started my ripple blankie and so far so good except I have the funny tight first row too. Before I go any further, you ladies who had the same problem - did it literally iron itself out? I feel very self-indulgent in making this for moi, and haven't quite settled into it yet. I'm using Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino which I bought at a bargain price, but still I feel some Baby somewhere should benefit. Then I think, stuff it, I don't know any Babies In Need of a Blankie at the moment.

I feel a bit like that as well, pinkshoes and have been looking on Rav for a blanket pattern for me. My Liberty fabric patchwork quilt is most often used by hubby when he's flumped on the sofa in the evening (especially if the heating's gone off and I won't let him turn it off again, suggesting that he put on another layer of clothing instead!), both of my girls have a patchwork quilt that I made and the Granny Squares and Ripple blankies I've got on the go are for them as well. I'm (very slowly) knitting an aran afghan/blanket but that's going to take aaaaagggeeesss unless I work on that and only that for the next fews months (and, let's be honest - that ain't going to happen, is it :D ) so I'm going to look about for some pretty yarn (I may indulge myself and use Rowan wool/cotton) to amass in readiness for the Mine And Only Mine Blanket

I quite like the style of the Lullaby Blanket that I spotted on Rav last night by chance when I read a post that was highlighted via the Forum Funnies of the latest newsletter thingammy - http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library ... by-blanket

Oooh I like that one too Christine. That's the trouble - there are so many really nice ones around, and I keep dithering about, wondering which to do. Of course I end up doing nothing. That said, I've completed 4 rows so I don't think I'm going back on it now. On the other hand I have just started this http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/phiaro-scarf as well.

Well I've decided on the colours to use for my little blanket- I'm making it 20" X 27" (roughly), for a pram blanket. I started it the beggining of last week and am getting on ok with it now-the first row into the ,foundation chain was very fiddley and I was having problems doing the last 2dc on the row so I put a stitch marker in the 3rd ch at the begining of each row which has helped a lot.

I've just finished a light pink ripple after the blue, then it will be yellow and aqua.
I'm loving the pattern, and I think I might make myself a ripple cushion cover sometime.

It's looking great NoviceKnitter (I do wish you'd get another name, you're such a fraud!! ). I love the choice of colours. I agree about the fiddly 2dcs - a stitch marker is a great idea, I shall do that too - thank you.

Oh LOL! I think I will have to change my name (a bit), and thank you! I've come to a bit of a standstill cos I can't get the next colour (yellow) till the weekend so I think I might start on the Attic24 bag in the meantime :knit:
