Megrose, I'm on my second free pattern by Wendy using magic loop, and it works like a charm. If the patterns in the book are anything like the free ones, you'll have no trouble knitting them on ML at all.

Thank you CC. I'll have to put this on my wish list. Just spent a few hundred on new specs - well a girl's got to look good as well as see - so I feel guilty about spending any more money for the time being. (It won't last, I'm sure). :D

Ouch, that's always expensive, isn't it? But then again, you need good eyesight to knit socks, so it's an investment in knitting too. In the meantime, you can download the free patterns from her website to see if you like them.

This book has been sat in my shopping basket at Amazon for so long now while I pondered over it whether to buy it, that it's now gone up in price! I really should order it, it's got some great reviews.

Forgot to post that I received my book a while ago now and love it too - haven't got around to using it yet but have amassed all the needles that might be needed so that when I can sit down, concentrate and start something a bit more complicated than garter stitch (having floors re-laid at the moment - not conducive to concentrating, more conducive to making endless cups of sugared tea for builders!) I'll be ready for the off - its a lovely book.

A comment about the needle size/gauge (tension) in this book. Most of the patterns state 2mm needles, at a gauge of 8st/inch which makes me think that Wendy Johnson knits at a very loose tension. I don't consider myself to be a tight knitter when it comes to tension ('relaxed' is more like it!) and I get 8st/inch on 2.5mm and 9st/inch on 2.00mm needles.

I agree that it's a fab book though :D

Yes, Kaz, I think they've had free delivery for a while now if you choose 'Super Saver Delivery'. Good eh? Amazon Marketplace orders do have delivery charges, though.
