I'll be there too. Looking forward to it after a manic few weeks at work. I don't think I'm going to join in the 100g Yarn Christmas thing though because I'm not finding a lot of knitting time at the moment and when I do have time, I'm trying to get things done for myself and family. Also, I'll miss the January meeting as I'm on holiday so wouldn't be able to take my finished item in anyhow.

We'll have to try to get there early and sit at those tables in the window if we can. That way we might all get sat together! Crikey, there's enough of us lot to have our own group  . Mind you if we didn't go to the Relax group Pinkshoes wouldn't get to buy more bargain yarn that she doesn't need!

It didnt happen! :( was meant to get there early, but its alot longer walk than i remembered, haha. I feel a little bit annoyed with that 100g yarn thing, my friend, sister and i got majorly ripped off with some awful coloured cheap acrylic that didnt even have ball bands on them, while we gave out king cole mirage, Blur and Patons caressa :( would have been so much better doing it where you give the finished item back, alot more fair. What on earth do i knit with bright green acrylic?
Was nice to see you guys again then though, and nice to meet you, Zyle! And yey with the free books! how cool was that x

Well we messed up bigtime with the seats - we got there first but stood outside like lemons because it was all dark inside, without even trying the door. Then some fo the regulars turned up and just went in and nicked the window seats  I have a feeling we wouldn't have all got to sit together if we'd gone in the window anyway though - seems the most popular spot and I reckon those other ladies would have sat up there too.

That 100g swap was so unfair... I thought the whole point was to knit something for the person who gave the wool. I can't believe that green acrylic - partially used and rewound too with no ball band! :(

But wow at DB Cashmerino for £1 each - truly awesome!!! There will be a ripple blanket emerging from that new stash at some point!

Was really nice to meet you (collective you!) too! You have tons of knitterly friends! I wish I'd knitted when I was at uni - probably would have been a much more social experience than it turned out to be.

Wasn't it busy again! Poor Meejos got stuck out on a limb - Stephen was like a little pixie perched on top of the sofas. I wonder if it will continue like that through the winter. I think I can see a splinter group coming on, but as Jill says we'd (I'd) miss out on the stash enhancement opportunities that present themselves there.

You guys certainly got a raw deal on the yarn swap - I couldn't believe my eyes  As to what you could do with (approx) 100g of vile green acrylic, if we get a chance to have a crochet tutorial session you could use it for practice? On the positive side, Lesley does very well with the wee handouts and the raffle prizes are good - I'm glad you at least got one of those.

Anyone got the date of the February meeting please? I'm assuming it is 16th but just wanted to double check.

I was in Babes just before I went away and Lesley asked if I had knitted up my 100g, I told her that I hadn't joined in because of my upcoming holiday and that I felt there was some misunderstanding about it all. That we had all thought we would get our own 100g back but knitted up and because of that some people had given nice yarn, yet got cheapy acrylic stuff in return which they would probably never use. She seemed a bit put out and said that it wouldn't have been a secret santa if we had all got our own stuff back. I left it at that as I hadn't joined in anyhow and I didn't want to cause any bad feeling.

Pinkshoes, you had suggested us having a splinter group as there are so many of us, we'll have to have a natter about that and try to think of somewhere suitable. I'd still like to go to the Relax one because it is very well run, the bargain yarns are nice and the raffle is always fun too. It would be nice though for our little crowd to be able to get together separately where there is space for us all to sit together.
