Hi Jill - sorry I noticed this post after I'd replied to your other one. Yes the 16th (I'm assuming). I'm sure you were right to say about the yarn thing, but it'll all have been forgotten about by Feb - don't give it another thought. A couple of the ladies I was sitting with Yes!!!) had brought their finished items (one had even brought the little scraps she had left over) but no one seemed right bothered about it, and there was no showing them around. I don't think anyone else had brought theirs

Yes let's discuss the splinter group idea - I think Jessicawabit (recently joined Phoenix) might join us at Relax, so she could well be another recruit for us (being a bit of a rebel  - hope she reads this  )

One woman made those sheep puppet things out of the yarn she got from my sister! Proper cute! Hm, i mentioned it to Lesley as well but she really didn't like me criticizing it. I wasnt being pissy or anything but some people got totally screwed on that deal and the only way it's fair is to get your own thing back, or be assigned to a person you trust to do yours for you. I just think 'secret santa' doesnt really work in a knitting group where most don't know eachother. Anyway, thats all behind us :)
I am wondering about this splinter group, would my friends and I be welcome?

 Welcome? - we're counting on you to be able to justify the title "group" Of course you'd be welcome! We need to be sure to arrange the seating next time so we can access each other easily and do some planning - I was kinda sidelined (in a nice way) last time. Maybe Jill & I can meet outside - when you go in alone people feel sorry for you

Yeah I'll meet you outside so we don't look like Billy No-mates

Me a rebel...what ever would give you that idea...

Well I did join you at relax and absoultely loved it...I was a bit nervous though but it was unfounded. I did think it was funny that we nabbed the window seats...will we ever be forgiven??? Do I really care??? I'm definately up for the splinter group ( I would meet every week but then I'm so rock and roll) and I think Pave would be really good and we would be v cool :ugeek:

Lovely to meet you all and add yet more wool to my stash...I'm up to three boxes....erm nearly four now

It was good to meet you too Ms. Wabit :D

Pave would be cool, especially if we could nab that little raised area with the fireplace and they also have a garden we could sit in in summer (/wishful thinking mode/). The only thing is, that it is a pub, well, a cafe/bar so we would be expected to all be buying drinks of some description, it would be a bit cheeky to just sit for two hours with about 3 drinks between the lot of us  . I'm not quite sure what the other customers and staff would make of us though! Another idea I had was Zachariah Pearson's on Beverley Road because it's big enough for us all to get sitting together and to not be too obtrusive kind of. There's a little bit off to the side of the main pub area that we could possibly invade. I'm in there next Wednesday for a 'meet the brewer' event so I'll suss it out.

Pubs or cafes are probably the best option, so long as they don't mind 10 to 15 extra customers wielding pointy sticks once a month, rather than trying to hire somewhere because if it tails off and ends up being only 3 or 4 of us meeting up it's going to cost us an arm and a leg between us and also I'm not sure that the other girls, being students would want to pay to hire somewhere. (Mind you, I'm not sure I do either).

Maybe we should just do a pub crawl of the area, one each month until we find somewhere we like best ;)

Glad you enjoyed yourself JessicaW - I did too, and it was particularly pleasing to win the raffle  Sounds like we're up for the splinter group, but just for the record and for any lurkers who might be tempted to join the Relax Group - we are not starting a coup because we're disgruntled - I really like the group and it's definitely worth going to. The Cottingham Group is also worth a whirl, but it's not for us because it's on a Friday.

How about we just meet at Pave on Tuesday 2nd March? If it's not conducive, we can have a coffee and a natter anyway and think up plan B - a tour of the pubs sounds OK to me :D Is 6.30 OK for everyone? Once we agree what we're doing I can contact the Meejos and invite them too.

6.30 might be a bit early, Pave does food and is usually very busy across tea-time. Try 7pm maybe?
