Hi All --

Has anyone used this Soak Wash product when blocking lace knitting? Is it any good?

I am worried that it may do some harm to my hard-worked lace projects if I use it, but I would love to know if anyone has had any good results with it as it seems so interesting. Does anyone know whether it's better to get the scented varieties or the "scentless" one (as this one also has no colouring, from what I can make out).

All advice and comments appreciated, thank you!

Best,

Heathwitch

I never used this product but as it is made for delicate fibres, I should think it will be good.
My knitted items, including lace, are washed in a little bit of Woolite in a sink of lukewarm water. I squeeze the water, then rince 3 times. Finally, I roll my knitting in a clean towel and squeeze the rest of the water out before laying flat or blocking the item.
Hope this helps!

i've never used soak either but i've always read very good reviews...i've just tried the lakeland lavender wool mix to wash a new shawl before blocking and i'm quite pleased.

Oooh, thanks for this -- I have not considered trying Lakeland's lavender wool mix before, but since I do shop there I will keep a look out for it! :)

I've also had good results with the Ecover special wool wash which has a mild lavender scent, then do as Tricotine does rinse until the water's clear then roll in towel to get excess water out & lay out or pin out to dry
