Or rather, what shall I make next? :D

I've made two lace shawls now and I've got the bug. I'm looking for a nice pattern to compete with Gail (Ravelry is down so no link I'm afraid), which I adore! I've had a look through a lot of the patterns on Ravelry but I can't decide. I'm thinking maybe Swallowtail or a Forest Canopy but I'm wondering if anyone has any favourites they could recommend. I have about 600 yards of 4ply alpaca. Thanks in advance!

Jencait, I just look at your Ravelry FOs. You really create beautiful things! :o

I love Swallowtail. So many people have made it and it will be my next shawl, white with beads instead of nupps.

Well for anyone who likes shawls with beads, Shipwreck from knitty would be just the thing, wouldn't it?  *to anyone who missed it, 5000 beads*

My favourite to knit to date was the Hidcote Garden Shawl, but it took me ages, and 600 isn't enough for that. Forest Canopy, Kiri or Matilda is excellent when you're looking for quicker and easier projects, and those patterns can be scaled up and down quite easily, according to your amount of yarn.

Swallowtail is a lovely pattern -- and it looks great in every yarn I've ever seen it knit up in. (I've made 4!)

Thank you all for your suggestions! I've narrowed it down to four now, Swallowtail, Forest Canopy, Spring Things, or Hidcote Garden. I had an unexpected payment from the bank today so though I'd treat myself

I think the Hidcote Garden may have to wait until I'm a bit more expert - there are so many charts!

I'm going to print out all the patterns a have a read through and then decide.

I'm very excited though, and glad I've found somehting new to obsess over

Thank you!
