Re: Knitting yarn holder

Hi Jules 50+female Don't own a yarn holder. Never felt the need to have one. I do use a yarn cosy ( http://www.doodlestop.co.uk/home/398-doodlestop-yarn-cosy.html ) which is one of those expanding nets that just keeps the ball tidy because I also like to knit from the centre. it would have to be bot...

Re: Addi click or knit pro?

I like to have a selection of both wooden and metal to use depending one which yarn I'm using. But I've never used addi clicks. Hope you find the right ones for you.

Re: Hi there.

Welcome gerrym. I don't so much mind if yarn is from a rare breed so long as it's come from a real healthy happy animal. It's so exciting finding something different from the run of the mill commercial products. -not that I'd be without them tho.

Re: Come on folks, what you working on

I'm knitting myself a dark purple fluffy cardigan using drops silk alpaca. There's no point in me even attempting a photo, cause I can barely see the stitches to knit it let alone make a descent picture. Anyway it's called Volutus by Susan Ashcroft. It's going to be warm and snug if and when I ever ...

Re: Just about to start this.

Hope you can get the errata sorted out. But like you say you might be able to copy the front. And yes I have a feeling those colours will blend ok.

Re: Just about to start this.

Wow, I'd like to make that. I love Fairisle. Is it worked in the round and steeked? Or worked flat. And I like working with Drops alpaca, it'll probably grow quickly and if you're anything like me you'll be enthused to do just one more row or pattern sequence. I,ll be interested to see how those col...

Re: Sirdar Snuggly Spots

Personally I think it's fine to ask any raveller if they'd be willing to sell you a ball of their yarn, just so long as it's a polite request and not a demand and make sure you offer to pay postage. All of which, sweetpea, I know you would do. Oh and just check that they are UK based - you don't wan...

Re: Chocolate Cookies

Mmm they do sound good. I like that the quantity doesn't make enough to feed an entire army, I reckon I could just about manage to eat 9. At first I wondered if you meant tablespoon or teaspoon for the syrup, but looking at the proportion of other ingredients teaspoon seems right.

Re: This f...lippin' jumper

I agree with darknit the body does look good.
If you can fix the neck, how about shortening the sleeves by ripping back from the cuff. If that's not practical you could cut off above the first snowflake band then pick up and re-knit the cuff.
