lol knitnac, glad to be of any help!

Yes, use the same size circ as you would in DPNS- but as i said, go for the 80cm length and make sure you have a smooth join at the cable tip. I have both Addi turbos and Knitpicks, but prefer the knitpicks as the cable is more flexible.

Just shout if you have any probs and im sure we can sort it out.

Happy looping

Lis

I'm sorry but I just had to look at this post because I really couldn't imagine why you would be knitting whilst climbing up a ladder....it brought all sorts of pictures into my mind!! Perhaps I'd better just crawl back into a darkened room with the padded walls and the lovely white coat with the extra long sleeves which tie up at the back.....

Sounds lovely and peaceful......

I do this as well - I read it on this forum (it may have been your suggestion). I also 'migrate' the stitches to new needles every inch or so. Some yarns still seem to form ladders though - Sirdar Crofter does (altho' I still like it)

I also knit into the back of stitch and if anyone mentions the fact that one stitch looks different then I just tell them it's part of the design. As none of my friends actually knit, they have no way of knowing any different ;)

 I like that! No one's ever asked me, as, like you, I'm the only one who knits around here.

I think I'll try Magic Loop next time. I'm getting on okay with dpns though, and finding that stitches spread evenly over four needles rather than three has eradicated the ladder problem. Also, I tug the yarn tight when making the first three stitches on the new needle.

Here's my penny's worth... I really recommend against mograting the stitches because then you get a wonky ladder! ( well I do!) I've found that just keeping the stitches even and quite relaxed is best, as the tighter you pull the more obvious the ladder becomes. Also, I've found that it only happens when the DPNs are at a certain angle - namely, a wider one. So say they form an irregular triangle, I'll get the ladder on the widest inside angle between the DPNs. If I've got say 20 sts on three DPNs I don't get any ladders at all. How strange is that! Must be to do with the tension of that little bar of the stitch between the DPNs.

I think that's why I do better with four dpns, Vikki, as the angle is then smaller and the tension less. I thought at first that working with four rather than three would be a nuisance, but I've found it's actually far easier as the work is so much looser and easier to manipulate.
