I've just finished it! Here it is

420

As socks go, it's definately not the best I've ever seen; but for a first attempt, I'm pretty pleased with it. Thank you all once again for the help with it. I probably could have done it a size smaller, and the heel is too big, but it's a learning curve!

Now that I've finished it, and understand the sockie process, I have a question about the heel flap. Is it possible to do the heel flap to a length that suits you rather than the pattern? I was using a pattern that can be adjusted to any size of foot. Here it is http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library ... gift-pouch.

Lynne

Oooh, she's lovely! Much better than my attempt.

ASFAIK, you can knit the heel flap as long or short as you like.

My heel flaps are always about 1½ inches long and then I pick up 19 stitches down the sides. As Minxy says, you can do them whatever size you like. Now that you're off and running, you can tailor the pattern to suit your own feet!
