a mere drop in the ocean, multiply that by 10 or so an you might start catching up with me! ;) and that's only the stuff I have hidden in 'plain sight', if you add the fleeces lurking in the loft  .......well, if you're doomed I dread to think what I am!

Jo - your someone who I aspire to be like, with all the fibre in your house, your heating bill must be really low coz your house is so well insulated ;)

just read your post over on UK spinners, hope you get wheel up and running soon so you can make a dent in your stash, good excuse then to buy more to replace it :D

1200g sounds quite reasonable. You definitely need quite a lot more, so that you can be properly doomed. After all, in for a penny in for a pound, might as well do the job properly etc. - Oooh, excellent one - "might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb" - now that's very appropriate!
I am currently looking for a job "so I can buy a spinning wheel and some more fibre, and maybe some more yarn..."

Erm I have at least 5 fleeces around the house in various states of cleaning plus lots of other fibre that I really will get around to spinning up, but I don't want to just spin them without a project in mind. I've already got quite enough yarn in stash & am running out of places to keep it

I prmise that you will look back at that post in a year's time and giggle - 1200 grams will seem like nothing, honestly!
I'm at the stage of selling a lot of my handspun so it doesn't hang around long, but I must have gone through kilos and kilos of fibre in the 14 months I've had my wheel  (I'm all the happier for it though!!)
Generally I only have about a kilo of stashed fibre around at a time.. though that sometimes drops to a meagre 200-300g  then I get worried about running out and dye more!

What are we like eh. There's not a lot that can be more satisfying that spinning a beautiful skein though! (Surely?)
