When posting a topic or reply, one of the buttons you have in the text editor, is a YouTube one. Here is a short introduction on what this does, and on how it works.

What does the button do?

When used correctly, you can embed a YouTube video within your post. This allows other forum users to watch the video within your post, without the need to visit YouTube or losing track of where they are in the thread/post.

How do I use it?

So how do you post a video? It's very easy once you know what you're looking for. Let's use the "Traditional way of processing wool" movie on YouTube as an example.
  1. Look at the URL of the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2iY4VFDiZI
  2. The bit after the ?v= and before any other parameters like &video_response= or &feature=related is the "Video ID".
  3. Copy/Paste the Video ID in a YouTube tag

Example:
Code:
[YouTube]V2iY4VFDiZI[/YouTube]

What will it look like?

When reading the post it would then look like this:

I hope that helps everyone use this little feature. Any questions, please don't hesitate to post a reply!

Peter are you telling me you're watching knitting videos in your spare time now - I'm very impressed, you will be pilfering the stash by Sunday is my prediction. :D

The wee tutorial is great, thank you - even a numpty like me might manage if I read the instructions carefully, several times  - no guarantees though. I think you are a very good person to have around (but you already know that)

Thank you very much for posting that little tutorial. I haven't tried it yet but at least I feel that I have great instructions there for when I do!
