Vintage crochet hooks

Postby judyanngee » Sat Jun 21, 2014 7:01 pm

I have some vintage metal crochet hooks that have "Shield" engraved on them.

The sizing is obviously not metric!!!!!

Does anyone know of a site, or where I can get info about sizing equivalents?

I've tried "Googling" without much luck :(

Thanks

There is a comparison chart on Thread-Bear.co.uk, it takes a bit of finding, you need to scroll down to 'Useful Guides and Conversion Charts' then scroll down again until you get to 'Knitting and Crochet Needle Conversions'.

Hope that this helps.

Thank you for your replies

Maisie these sites are for modern hooks, the ones that I have are vintage and a size 0 is more like a 2.25mm than 8mm. ;)

Knit wit there is a numeral before the 0 (1/0 2/0 etc) and my hook has just 0 or 00, but it does look more hopeful.

Once again thank you both for your time replying
