Please can you advise me please - yarn to use

I'm new to felting, and I've had a go with wash feltz wool purpose done felting wool, so my question is what other wools can you use.

I read something that said it needs to be 100% wool is this right ?

Not just wool, but also not superwash - that won't felt.

right so make sure it doesn't say superwash and make sure there is a high wool content. Ok any other tips or pointers :lol:

i use a larger needle than the actual non felting gauge suggests if you are subbing a yarn so the actuall fabric looks very loose before it is felted. i keep an eye on what kemps have for feltable yarns. there are a few rowan hand wash only yarns on at the momment but nothing that actually leapt out at me.

I think Helen's used the New Lanark yarns for felting projects on a few occasions (for bags).
