Forum is being spammed

Postby ContinentalCat » Wed Mar 02, 2016 8:38 am

Dear knitters,

You've probably seen it already, right now our forum is being spammed with messages, to such an extent and with such speed that it is difficult for the mod team to keep up. We're working on finding a solution as quickly as possible, so please be patient. You all have a report button for spam, but this is so much that we don't expect you to report it.

We might not be able to delete all messages right away, but we're doing out best. If you have any questions (or just want to have a chat), feel free to use this thread, it will be at the top of the 'New Posts' list, so easy to find.

I do believe I caught all the spam now. Of course now that 1000 are gone, how many more will there be... If you see any just send one alert - please do not report every single one :help:

I'm on it!

We're not going to let some Russian spammers ruin the forum :-)

You're very welcome - and thank you for holding the fort during such a turbulent and undoubtedly stressful time!

Hopefully the issues should be resolved now.

We've created some difficult obstacles for spam bots to overcome and deleted over 2,000 forum spammer accounts.

Now let's have a drink and celebrate the fact that it is weekend.
