First attempt at dying fibre

I had the opportunity to do some dying yesterday using landscape dyes, it's merino fibre and I'm hoping to start spinning it this weekend.
It was surprisingly easy, we laid the fibre out on clingfilm, mixed up the dye powder with warm water then painted splodges onto the fibre wrapped it all up in the clingfilm and steamed it for half an hour. All very satisfying.

I think the dying process has felted the fibre a bit so it's proving quite hard to spin. It will take me a week to spin this amount, unless I 'forget' to feed the family and work on other projects. etc. it's in the naughty corner right now for being difficult.
