Does anyone hvae a sub for this? not sure on the weight. I saw this jumper knitted in it today but would prefer a cheper yarn to knit it with. Maybe a James C Brett alternative. No projects on Rav to have a look at :(

I should think J.C.Brett Marble Chunky would be fine - it is almost exactly the same weight as the Crofter Chunky, same needle size and similar gauge. It is nice and soft, and easy to knit with.

You should be able to sub any of the sirdar chunky yarns for Crofter, sirdar/Hayfield bonus chunky is a cheap chunky if you want a solid colour, stylecraft special chunkys also good, if you want stripes then go for James C Brett marble chunky.
