Does anyone hvae a sub for this? not sure on the weight. I saw this jumper knitted in it today but would prefer a cheper yarn to knit it with. Maybe a James C Brett alternative. No projects on Rav to have a look at http://www.knitandsew.co.uk/Sirdar_Crof ... n_9208.htm |

I should think J.C.Brett Marble Chunky would be fine - it is almost exactly the same weight as the Crofter Chunky, same needle size and similar gauge. It is nice and soft, and easy to knit with. |

You should be able to sub any of the sirdar chunky yarns for Crofter, sirdar/Hayfield bonus chunky is a cheap chunky if you want a solid colour, stylecraft special chunkys also good, if you want stripes then go for James C Brett marble chunky. |
