Cable needles
Cable needles
Many moons ago, when I bought my first set of needles (Aero), the set came with 3 assorted cable needles. They were straight, grey coloured steel needles not unlike very short DPNs.
When I decided to start knitting again, I found that I had lent the cable set to someone. I bought some more. This time, they were plastic and had a step in the middle, which I assume was to stop the stitches from dropping off the needle. . What do you think of these? I found them difficult to use. I have now got back my original straight ones which I find a lot easier to work with.
Re: Cable needles
I'm not keen on curvy ones either. My tip is to use one size (half size would probably do it too) larger cable needle than the main knitting. That way the stitches are less likely to slip off.
