blocking wires

Ball winders? Stitch Counters? Strange contraptions that look alien but allow you to knit four times as fast? Tell us about them all here.

After thinking about it for a long time, and after finding that yet another yarn I'm knitting can't be ironed, I decided to treat myself to a kit, I ordered them 2 days ago and they arrived today thanks Helen for the link and thanks to The Loop for the excellent service.

So next week I'll be blocking........ can't wait

I've just loaned mine out to a friend from my knitting group, but haven't had much time to knit lately anyway. Hoping to finish another couple of shawls soon though, so I'll be able to join in the BAL

A BAL, even for dishcloths, is a great idea, Joy!

I phoned LOOP today and they said that it was sent Tuesday and checked a Royal Mail tracking number for me. ( confirmed not delivered!)
They were helpful and said that I should phone again in a few days if I haven't received them.
Something to look forward to!
My Aeolian shawl is growing, slowly but surely. I find lace weight yarn a bit more straining on the eyes than 4 ply.

I was the same, Deakin, as they are pricey but I think it will be worth it, seing our shawls in all their splendour

That is really kind of you, Helen. Pinkshoes did suggest that to me and I appreciated it. Unfortunatly, she was miles away and my DD, who did live near her was not coming home for a while.
Do you realise that you are the inspiration behind our yearning for beautifully blocked shawls?

I'm assuming its a block along rather than the other acronym - unless we want a team bronchial alveolar lavage?

Right sunday afternoon, feeling a bit headachey (nothing serious just not enough sleep) so I think now is a good time to log off and go and go and try out my blocking wires.
My dragonfly wings needs attention first then my revontuli. It might be nextsunday before you see the results. Bye for now
