I ordered a simple raglan sleeved jumper and a tank top from a company. I gave the age as 12-14 months and size of chest, waist, shoulder to hem and arm. It took them five days to reply insisting they could not start until I gave the precise age! As a non-knitter I am no expert but is this a normal request?
No, I don't think this is right. Children vary vastly in size so your size request of 12-14 months is perfectly reasonable. Is it possible to give exact measurements - if not by measuring the child, then by measuring some clothing which fits?
