Inspiration from the nature

Postby saliha » Sun Oct 01, 2017 2:53 pm

When I am planning some new works like sweater or socks, I like to make a little walk to the nearest forest to looking for it´s colors and finding inspirations from them. Sometimes I also take photos to support my plans. These ones have helped me lately to create my patterns:

Those photos also help me to see what kind of colors match together the best. Of course wool colors are only the pale reflection comparing those "real" ones.

Where you others get your inspirations for your knittings?

That's a really good question Saliha. I get a lot of inspiration from nature but don't often take photos. At the moment I am in a green phase so much of my knitting is in shades of green. Later I will try to put up some photos that have inspired me. However, a few years ago I was struck by the beautiful colours in Winter and put them into a pair of socks for my daughter.
