I only knew of two of those, so I'll have to check the others out :D
I recently stumbled across twist Collective and am quite liking it.

Thanks for all the links - I also only knew about Knitty.

Does anyone know where Magknits disappeared to?
Still not sure what I want to be when I grow up

Magknits is no longer available, but a lot of the patterns have been 'rescued' and are available on Ravelry.

Just knew about Knitty, but not the others, thanks for those.

There's a quarterly children's and baby one called Petite Purls http://petitepurls.com/.

Not really a magazine, but Drops is worth keeping an eye on, too. They publish new patterns every season.

Yes can confirm that Drops is a good one and have knitted a couple of their designs - worth checking for errors on some of their stuff though (although I guess that is a concern for most patterns). I do like Drops patterns but struggled with them a little bit at first when I started knitting again a few years ago.

Thank you for the links I will have a look.

I don't know any of them but I have referred people to the free knitting pattern at this place before

http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory.php

There is also a crochet patterncentral.com as well

The patterns are very.. concise; I think it's a bit of a northern/continental thing. They remind me of the patterns I grew up with, very different from what I'm used to now.
