I treated myself to some Mini Mochi yarn yesterday and have plans to make myself some lined mittens for work.

Anyhoo, I want to show off the colours by contrasting with black and as such I'm after a black. I want a 4-ply that's warm and super-soft.

Currently I'm pondering some possum that I got to squish at Harrogate but they don't have black on their website.

Any suggestions? I'm after super-soft and warm and preferably natural to compliment the Mochi

I have some of that in cream, it's alright but not as soft as I'd like.

I use cygnet 4ply sock yarn and that's pretty soft when it's knitted up. Obviously, it's a wool mix so it's not going to be anything like as soft as baby alpaca, for example, but I'm pleased with it for socks.

Well, as I spoilt myself with the Mochi I spoilt myself on Etsy too.

I got some alpaca/llama black yarn. £11 for 100g+postage but it looks devine!

Ooh! Sounds lovely! I'm a sucker for all things alpaca at the moment - I'm even trying to persuade DH that we need to keep a few of the beasties ourselves. He's not convinced, though.
