Re: Supermarket wool

Fiveinhand its been a while since I bought any since I don't particularly like it - it wears like iron because it feels like iron - usually I shop around and can find it for about £3 for 50g. Had a quick look at my usual haunts and it does seem to have increased to £8/9 for 100g, good job I've got e...

Re: Supermarket wool

Lots of supermarkets in Germany sell sock wool including Regia so I wouldn't immediately discount it because its being sold by a supermarket. Check it out in person and see what you think. I've never paid £8-9 for Regia either.

Re: Using different size needles.

My mum makes dolls clothes to sell - there can be quite a lot of variation between different dolls even if they are the same height. Can you check the tension on the sleepsuit you have already knitted? If your tension is correct going up a needle size will make the dress looser but make make it not ...

Re: double knit, machine wash.

I like wollmeise or rowan pure wool dk which is now called something different (pure wool superwash dk - just checked for you) for easy of throwing in the wash - neither is especially cheap. Cheaper options would be something acrylic or a wool/acrylic blend - I've used stylecraft yarns for kids clot...

Re: HELP!!

I heard it was the second stitch rather than the first stitch of the 'new' needle you had to make sure was pulled tight. I also find magic loop or the very small 9" circs work better for me than dpns.

Re: Magic Loop - Help

Tightening the second stitch is supposed to help. I've not had a problem with huge ladders although there is a slight one at each end - by the time you've washed the socks a couple of times its not noticeable. I found ML far easier than dpns, but dpns might work better for you - give them a try mayb...

Re: Pattern problem

Next row rib3 cast off 1st (rib 5 cast off 1st) 3 times, rib 3 That works out ok to me, each time you cast of 1st you are actually using up two stitches - knit 2 and pull the first stitch over the second stitch :- rib3 cast off 1st - uses up 5 stitches (rib 5 cast off 1st) - uses up 7 stitches - thr...

Re: Any UK suppliers offer on Chiaogoo Twist Red Lace set?

Purlescence stock the CG interchangeables and whilst they don't currently have any offers they usually do have a discount for bank holidays - unfortunately the next one isn't until the end of August. If you sign up for their newsletter they'll let you know next time they have an offer/sale. My bend...
