Re: Come on folks, what you working on

Just finished this. Will cast on for another today, they make excellent presents, the only downside is the number of ends to sew in. If anyone would like to try one, it's called the Toph Hat and is available on Ravelry - they are fun to knit! https://www.knittingforums.org.uk/download/file.php?mode=...

Re: Socks for Narrow Feet - How many stitches is too little

Sorry I didn't click to ML meaning magic loop - I'm really old-fashioned and can only knit socks on three needles! Glad Joy sorted you out.

Re: Socks for Narrow Feet - How many stitches is too little

Hi there Philson

How many needles are you knitting these socks on? Just 2? It's quite unusual to knit socks on 2 needles. What pattern are you using? Sorry but as an Anglo I don't understand ML.

Hope we can help you!

Kate

Welcome to the forum BTW!

Re: Just

Hi Janet

I think I definitely need one of those calorie free cakes this Christmas!

You probably have some good advice to give Joy to get her avatar small enough but if you struggle Joy, try www.resizeyourimage.com
which I've always found really reliable.

Cheers

Re: Which yarn should I use

Hi Sunshine It can be useful to check the ball band information of the yarn required on the pattern - you can usually find that unless the yarn has been long discontinued. On there it will (or should) give gauge as well as needle size. You can then check if the yarn you fancy matches up. Hope that h...

Re: new member introduction

Hi there Trinity and welcome.

I have heard that warming your hands in warm water for 5 or so minutes before starting knitting can help with joint pain. Also little bursts of knitting followed by rests so that you build up your knitting stamina.

Hope that helps

Re: New to this forum

I'm with you on cables but apart from the most simple ones, lacework tends to confuse me! You certainly have a wide range of projects. We love pictures on here so please don't forget to post them!
