Looking for Brushed Mohair

Postby derfred » Wed Jan 08, 2014 12:40 pm

Hi,

My name is Fred, I´m looking for a brushed mohair supplier in the UK, preferably a manufacturer. I´m interested in a tick, long like the one in the attached photo.

I would buy in the range of 20 to 40 Kg monthly.

Please PM with offers.

Regards,
Fred

Sorry but the main supplier I had back in the mohair days of the 80's was the Yorkshire Mohair Mills in Bradford but I take it that they are no longer trading. No one appears to do half the range that they used to offer.

Patons do quite a long one, "Spirit" if that helps.

20kg-40kg per month is a mighty amount of yarn so I assume you are running a business (or perhaps not). This is not a commercial forum therefore you're unlikely to receive a personal message from anyone who could meet your needs.
I have heard of housework, but I definitely don't like the sound of it

Hello Pinkshoes!

Yes, I run a business. The idea with this query was not so much find a supplier here in the forum but information about some supplier I may contact.

I´ve searched for countless hours and send dozens of emails but I only find expensive dealers and bad quality yarns... So I tough coming to a forum like yours for help might be a good idea...

My idea is to find some small mill in England, maybe in Yorkshire if someone knows one I would be very grateful :)

Even an old stock warehouse would do, something it´s better than nothing...

Thanks for the tips "five in hand" I´ll look into that.

Cheers,
Fred
