I don't understand how to go about starting this bit of pattern -
with OC yarn and BL yarn. Cast 1 st OC, with RS facing k7oc from spare needle of right front leg, cast on 1 st oc and 5 sts bl. (14 sts).
I cannot work out how it's done, like what needle where etc
I've also add an attachment of the bit of patterned - a bit before and after that bit too.

Hi lekc

I think we need a bit more of the pattern instructions to help you. Some of the instructions from before the ones you gave would be helpful. Maybe a link to the pattern itself.

I added the pattern in an attachement

OK, I think I see what they are getting at but it's really difficult to explain other than to say take a deep breath and do exactly as they say.

Have the knitting with the right side facing you and put an extra stitch on the needle in OC. Cast it on in any way you like - even knit twice into the first stitch to create it if that's easier. Then take your spare needle with the already knitted front leg and knit those stitches onto first needle next to your newly created extra stitch. Cast on another stitch in OC and 5 more in bl. It can be quite tricky to cast on in these circumstances - the easiest way is the simplest, just slide a loop of wool onto the needle, loosely so that you can knit it easily. Hope that helps.
