Jumper Sleeve Shaping Confusion!

Postby Bee99 » Fri Jun 23, 2017 8:28 pm

Hi!
I'm knitting the jumper, Women's Crewneck Sweater from DK's Big Book of Knitting and managed to get through the front and back fine, but have got a bit stumped when shaping the top of the sleeve.

It reads:

NEXT ROW: K2 skpo k to last 4sts, k2tog, k2.
NEXT ROW: P to end

This is where I get a bit confused:

Rep last 2 rows x 3
Dec 1st as set at each end of next and 5 fol 4th rows
NEXT ROW: K2, s1 k2tog, psso, k to last 5sts, k3tog, k2.

Please can someone kindly help me translate it :)

Much appreciated, Bee99

Hi Bee99 and welcome

The instruction means that you knit that first instruction 3 times, then knit 3 rows without shaping, (purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row) repeat the decrease row, then knit those 3 rows without shaping etc until you have done that 5 times.
Then you are decreasing by two stitches so you just slip 1 stitch knit two together then slip the stitch over the two you have knitted together.

Hope that helps.

Kate
